Who we are
Chris Smith and Pat Muldoon, long-time Ottawa residents who take a great deal of pride in working very closely with clients in order to transform their homes into beautiful, comfortable and stylish spaces.
We started our business 8 years ago after graduating from the Advanced Housing program at Algonquin College.
What we do
We are a hands-on renovation contractor team, equipped to take on anything from smaller projects to full home renovations. We have extensive experience in a wide range of renovations and would be happy to discuss whatever your needs may be. Our renovations include, but are not limited to, small additions, bathrooms, kitchens, basements and full home remodels. Increasingly, with the aging population or growing need for extra income, we have been retrofitting and renovating homes into legal rental income suites. Whatever the project, we are committed to reliable, long-lasting results and stride for excellence in our trade. We surround ourselves with respectable and qualified trades people, leaving our clients with peace of mind. We take great pleasure in building relationships with our clients, making the renovation an enjoyable experience for all parties involved.

My wife and I recently purchased a 35 year old home in need of significant updating. A local kitchen company highly recommended that we use the services of Chris Smith and Pat Muldoon of CP RENOVATORS. At our first meeting, we outlined the work that we wanted completed and asked both Chris and Pat for an honest timeline in which they could complete the work at hand. They gave us a solid commitment to complete the job in the agreed upon time and they provided us with a written estimate before they started work.
On the first day, they made very rapid progress beginning with significant demolition of the kitchen and bathrooms as originally planned. As work continued, we asked them if they could take on additional renovations including scraping and painting of all the stippled ceilings in the house, replacing all floor, window and door mouldings, all room and closet doors, re-constructing and re-tiling of the fireplace and hearth, adding over 45 pot lights throughout the house , changing all outlets, adding outlets, sanding existing wood floors and adding new wood floors to the kitchen, master bedroom and guest bedroom, tiling the foyer, laundry room and bathrooms, adding a new tub and shower stall and painting the entire house.
Throughout this 5 week project, my wife and I continued to add work to Pat and Chris's list that went well beyond the scope of the original agreed upon plan. So, here's how they did:

Their experience was evident when any challenges arose during the project and they never said "it can't be done". When the final invoice came in there were no surprises and everything was detailed as agreed upon.
We are so satisfied with everything that CP RENOVATORS have done for us. My wife and I have a great deal of trust and respect for Chris and Pat. They are honest and decent to the core and just downright really nice guys. I didn't know that we would ever say this about a contractor, but we had a lot of fun working with them and truly enjoyed their company.
This turned out to be a major project for us, as well as for Chris and Pat. All work was completed on time, perfectly and with great craftsmanship. All job tasks were masterfully coordinated and work flow was seamless. We are proud of the work done on our new home. We also plan to renovate our sunroom in the new year and will most definitely return to CP RENOVATORS to tackle the job. We have since received a lot of compliments from family, neighbours and friends on the work done on our home and we are proud to talk to them about CP RENOVATORS.

“Pat and Chris of CP Renovators are a team of highly skilled builders who we entrusted the rebuilding of our cottage deck that was suffering from age and neglect. It should be said though, that this was not a simple routine decking project.
The first consideration was that the deck was large, approximately 800 sq ft, and completely wrapping around the building and tying in a nearby bunkie. It also sat atop a series of existing concrete block pillars, some of which needed repair. Secondly, as the cottage was perched upon a rock hill, the front and largest section of the deck was high off the ground and required the construction of scaffolding on three of its sides.
Our wish was to significantly enhance the deck's look and functionality, opting for a modern industrial design and an expanded cantilever off the front to add space. Working closely with Pat and Chris, we architected the new deck which ultimately included a maximized cantilever, BC fir beams, industrial galvanized steel fittings, western red cedar joists, flooring and side railings, hidden fasteners, and finished off with cedar and heavy tempered glass railings in the front that afforded unobstructed lake and sunset views.
Quite simply, Pat and Chris's meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship left us speechless when it was finally completed. It was stunning, and completely exceeded our expectations. Impeccably straight, and absolutely rock solid. And this after having worked through the worst of what Ontario's spring and summer insects could deliver.
Five years later the deck remains the showpiece of our country getaway, bringing us many compliments from our guests. We couldn't be happier and highly recommended CP Renovators for any and all of your home improvement projects.
